It's Over 9000!

About

“Over 9000” is a popular catchphrase derived from the Japanese manga anime series Dragon Ball Z that is typically used as an innumerable quantifier to describe a large number of something like “several”, “lots”, “butt loads” and even the metric “ass tonne”.

Origin

Dragon Ball (ドラゴンボール Doragon Bōru) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. With the ending of Dragon Ball, Toei Animation quickly released a second anime television series, Dragon Ball Z. In the 28th episode titled “Goku’s Arrival,” the main protagonist character Goku returns to the Earth after intense training in the Other World to square off against Saiyan warriors Vegeta and Nappa, who had killed his friend Piccolo right before his arrival. As Goku powers up in rage, Vegeta senses an explosive increase in his power level through his scouter and yells: “It’s over nine thousand!”

The scene from the episode was eventually uploaded by 4chan user and YouTuber Kajetokun on October 17th, 2006.

Power Level

In the Dragon Ball franchise, the Power Level is a recurring concept which denotes the combat strength of a warrior. According to Dragonball Wikia, the highest number ever officially read aloud from a scouter is Captain Ginyu’s reading of Goku’s power level, which after powering up, is 180,000. The highest power level ever mentioned in Dragon Ball Z is Frieza’s power level of 530,000, said by Frieza himself while battling Nail. According to the Japanese manga publisher V-Jump, the overall highest power level is 2,500,000,000 of Super Saiyan Gogeta. It is interesting to note that Goku’s power level is actually read as “over 8000” in the original Japanese and English-translated mangas as well as the original Japanese anime series.

Spread

According to Kajetokun, the video was originally shared with his friends as an inside joke, but it was posted to 4chan’s /b/ (random) board by his friend Patrick shortly thereafter. In the following weeks of October 2006, YouTuber Kajetokun’s video quickly drew attention from the fans of Dragon Ball, inspiring a series of remix videos on YouTube, various image macros and demotivational posters on 4chan, as well as parody sites dedicated to the phrase on YTMND. The first Urban Dictionary entry for “over 9000” was submitted on November 21st, 2006, defined as:

What the scouter says about Goku’s power level. Over Nine thousand

“Vegeta, what does the scouter say about his power?”
“It’s over NINE THOUSAAAAAAAND!” (Over 9000)
“WHAT?! NINE THOUSAND?!

4chan Trolls Oprah

The phrase “over 9000” once again resurged in September 2008, when an Anonymous troll left an alarming message on Oprah Winfrey’s message board, in which he claimed to represent an organized network of over 9,000 pedophiles. Oprah took the bait and read the post before her audience in an episode of the show, which was met by ecstatic responses from the Anonymous community praising the prank as an epic win.

“Let me read you something from our message boards about someone who claims to be from a known paedophile network. It said this. ‘He doesn’t forgive, he doesn’t forget, his group has over 9,000 penises, and they’re all raping children.’ So, I want you to know, they’re organized, and they have systematic ways of hurting children, and they use the Internet to do it.”

A video clip of Oprah’s message to her audience was promptly uploaded to YouTube, however it was quickly removed due to a copyright claim by Harpo, Inc. Despite the takedown, numerous remix videos featuring Oprah’s mention of “9000 penises” followed on YouTube.

The Surprising Truth about Stereotypes of Online Gamers

You know online gamers. They’re overweight, lazy, socially inept, awkward, and prefer the darkness of a blackened-out room with only the pixels of a monitor or TV lighting the way.

The typical representation of people when mentioning gamers

All they do in their spare hours — and some in their not-so-spare hours — is sit in front of a screen and play their video games. They are mostly young teenaged boys, too.

The surprising truth of these gamer stereotypes is only that they aren’t true. Not for most gamers anyway.

For answers to gamer stereotypes, we turn to German researchers Kowert et al (2014), who studied 2,551 Germans who took part in a randomized, voluntary telephone survey in 2011.

While most online players in this survey were indeed male — 70 percent — those who played primarily offline games were female (54 percent). So that gender stereotype doesn’t hold up well either, as it depends upon the kind of video game that’s being played.

Are they mostly teenagers? Nope. The average age of online video game players in this survey was 34 years old. For offline players, the average age was even older — 45. And age was about the only significant difference the researchers found between those who played video games, and those who didn’t:

Who would have thought that you could be a gamer and still have a real life ? ? kappa...

Contrary to predictions, broad differences were not found between online and nonplayers. The only significant difference to emerge between these groups was age, as online players were found to be significantly younger than offline or nonplayers.

In fact, the researchers could find little evidence to support most of the stereotypes around gamers:

The lack of overarching differences between online, offline, and nonplayers signifies that most the components of the stereotype are not empirically supported.
Online players do not seem to be more lazy, overweight, or unathletic than offline or nonplaying participants, as they all reported similar levels of exercise, nor are particularly unpopular, socially inept, isolated, or reclusive, as online players reported equivalent levels of quality friendships and sociability as compared to the other groups, as well as a greater social motivation to play than offline players.

Ah, but wait… There is one important exception to this data. Video game players who exhibit problematic gaming behaviors — such as salience, tolerance, mood changes, conflict, spending all of their free time playing, to the detriment of their family, social life, job or school — are also more likely to fit the stereotypes we have about gamers:

[We] did uncover significant inverse relationships between involvement and frequency of exercise, occupational success, and social support, suggesting that more involved online video game players are more unathletic, underachieving in their occupational pursuits in relation to their peers, and less socially supported than the broader video game playing population or the subgroup of offline players.

The usual limitations of this study apply. Telephone surveys — what people say they do — aren’t quite the same as getting data from direct measurement. And Germans gamers may not be the same as Americans, or share the same characteristics.

Gaming — like all things in life — should be done in moderation. But most people who play video games don’t fit the stereotype of someone who plays a video game. Which is just another reminder of how empirical data can blow holes in our common wisdom.

But wait.....
Steam Sales incoming..

well then..... there goes my money..againnn

Staphhhh !!!! plzzzz

If you think you can outrun the Steam Sales.. take a look at this one and remember kids.. none escapes from the Lord GabeN

HUKUM QAZA’ (MENCUKUR SEBAHAGIAN KEPALA)

HUKUM QAZA’ (MENCUKUR SEBAHAGIAN KEPALA DAN MEMBIARKAN YANG LAIN).

Contoh qaza' (gambar hiasan)

Definasi qaza seperti kata Imam Nawawi:

Qaza’ ialah mencukur sebahagian kepala.

Hukum Qaza’

ULAMA TELAH BERSEPAKAT MENYATAKAN MAKRUH QAZA’

Imam Nawawi menyebut dalam kitab al-Minhaj (syarh sahih Muslim):

Makruh Qaza’ iaitu membelah rambut dengan mencukur ditengahnya.

MAZHAB HANAFI

Imam ibnu Abidin berkata dalam Hasyiahnya:

Makruh Qaza’ iaitu mencukur sebahagian kepala samada ditempat yg berbeza atau tempat yang sama.

DALIL MAKRUH

Ibnu Umar berkata “AKu mendengar Rasulullah saw menegah dari Qaza’ ([ البخاري برقم 5576 ومسلم برقم 2120]

Peace out XD

Tribute To Jonah Lomu: A Rugby Superstar

New Zealand rugby union great Jonah Lomu has died aged 40.

Rest In Peace Jonah

Lomu, who scored 37 tries in 63 matches for New Zealand between 1994 and 2002, had been diagnosed with a rare and serious kidney condition in 1995.

It forced him to quit the game and he had a kidney transplant in 2004, but the organ stopped functioning in 2011.

"Jonah was a legend of our game and loved by his many fans both here and around the world," said New Zealand Rugby chief executive Steve Tew.

"We're lost for words and our heartfelt sympathies go out to Jonah's family."
Family spokesman John Mayhew told New Zealand television that Lomu's death was "totally unexpected" and that he had only arrived back from the UK on Tuesday, after spending time there for the Rugby World Cup.

New Zealand Prime Minister John Key said: "The thoughts of the entire country are with his family."

Speaking to the BBC, New Zealand Sports Minister Jonathan Coleman said Lomu "was the first global rugby superstar".

He was a "huge inspiration to Polynesian men and actually in later years with his battles against kidney disease, very inspirational to people suffering from chronic diseases as well", he said.

Lomu is survived by his wife Nadene and two sons.
The son of Tongan immigrants, Lomu made his Test debut in 1994 against France in Christchurch.

As well as playing for several domestic teams in his homeland, he made 10 appearances for Cardiff Blues in Wales between 2005 and 2006, shortly before his retirement.

Lomu, during his prime years in rugby sport

Despite never winning the World Cup, he is the joint top try-scorer in its history - alongside South Africa wing Bryan Habana, scoring 15 tries in 11 games.

Bryan Habana

He was at his best at the 1995 and 1999 World Cups, terrifying defensive lines with his speed and size - 192 cm tall (6 feet 4 inches) and weighing about 119 kilograms (18 stone 10 pounds).

In a memorable match against England in the 1995 semi-final, he bulldozed several players and ran straight over the top of full-back Mike Catt on his way to a try.

His performance in that tournament has been widely credited with helping attract the major commercial deals that enabled the sport to enter the professional era.

But a rare kidney condition, nephrotic syndrome, hampered his career. A later transplant was rejected by his body in 2011.
After news of his death broke, former New Zealand captain Sean Fitzpatrick tweeted: "Our thoughts are with the Jonah Lomu family tonight. A very special person."

All Blacks World Cup winner Dan Carter tweeted: "I still can't believe the sad news. Love and thoughts go out to Jonah's family."

And former Wales fly-half Jonathan Davies said: "Can't believe that Jonah Lomu has passed away. Was with him and his wife and family for an evening last month.

"So sad, life is so cruel. RIP Jonah you were a true legend and a gentleman. You changed the game of rugby and will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with your family."
'Blend of pace, power and size never before seen'

BBC Radio 5 live's rugby union reporter Chris Jones:

No-one transcended the sport of rugby union quite like Jonah Lomu. Bursting onto the scene of the 1995 World Cup, Lomu was a force of nature, the player of the tournament by some distance. His blend of pace, power and size never before seen.
Despite his health problems, he had been working in the UK during the recent Rugby World Cup, which makes his death all the more shocking.

Quite simply, Lomu was a giant of world rugby. The man who changed the game forever.

Memes (ง ͡ʘ ͜ʖ ͡ʘ)ง

Greetings, everybody.

Today I would like to share with you guys about memes since everyone keep asking what it is and how to know something or someone is an attribution to memes.

Without further ado,, let's begin our journey into the mysterious paths of the Internet

A "meme" is a virally-transmitted cultural symbol or social idea. A meme (rhymes with "team") behaves like a flu or a cold virus, traveling from person to person quickly, but transmitting an idea instead of a lifeform. According to Cecil Adams of theStraightDope.com, the concept of memes "is either really deep, or really, really obvious".

Historically, a meme is a discrete "package of culture" that would travel via word of mouth, usually as a mesmerizing story, a fable/parable, a joke, or an expression of speech. Today, memes travel much faster than simple speech. As internet email forwards, instant messages, and web page links, memes now travel instantly via the Internet. Most modern internet memes are humor-centered (e.g. Rickrolling, Ask a Ninja,Lolcats, Domo-kun, More Cowbell, Numa Numa Dance). Humor usually reaches the most people, and is the most attractive to forward to others.

But many internet memes are also about shock-value and drama (e.g. Angry German Kid, Dogs Go to Heaven). Other memes are urban myths that tout some kind of life lesson (e.g. The Littlest Fireman, Mel Gibson and Man Without a Face, Kurt Warner). A few internet memes are about deep content, and involve social commentary and intellectual absurdity (e.g. Flying Spaghetti Monster, Russell's Orbiting Teapot).

In a few cases, a meme can become a conversational expression as well as a viral curiosity (e.g. 'You Mad Bro'.
In every case, a package of culture or personal experience spreads between people in a virus-like fashion.

The majority of internet memes are transmitted by adolescents and post-adolescents. This is largely because these two demographics like to message, and have a playful curiousity about memes. But today, the average age of meme-transmitters has increased, as users over 30 years old discover the chuckles and humor about forwarding memes to their friends.

The "meme" word was first introduced by evolutionary biologist, Richard Dawkins, in 1976. "Meme" comes from the Greek word "mimema" (meaning "something imitated", American Heritage Dictionary). Dawkins described memes as a being a form of cultural propogation, a way for people to transmit social memories and cultural ideas to each other. Not unlike the way that DNA and life will spread from location to location, a meme idea will also travel from mind to mind.

The Internet, by sheer virtue of its instant communication, is how we now spread modern memes to each other's inboxes. A link to a YouTube video of Rick Astley, a file attachment with a Stars Wars Kid movie, an email signature with a Chuck Norris quote... these are a few examples of modern meme symbols and culture spreading through online media.

The bulk of internet memes will continue to be humor and shock-value curiousities, as these grab people's attention more quickly than deeper meme content. But as users become more sophisticated in their thinking, expect memes to become progressively more intellectual and philsophical.

Examples of Modern Internet Memes:
Note: some of the following content is juvenile, and more targeted at adolescents. Some of these following memes are much more adult, and intended for more mature audiences.
1.    Nuts the Squirrel
is a Canadian critter who stole a front spot in a family photo. Today, you can "Squirrelize" your own photos to have Nuts in the foreground.

2.    Rickroll
A prankster meme: people will pretend to send critical business email links in emails, but are actually sending links to Rick Astley music videos from the 1980's.

3.    LOLcats
The absurd gallery of people attaching human behaviors and captions to photos of housecats.

4.    Numa Numa Dance
This chubby lip-syncher, Gary Brolsma, has won the hearts of viewers everywhere.

That will be all lads..

Nilai RM1 Dalam Dunia Moden

Hi peeps..it's been quite some time and now I have few moments to entertain your minds with my entries..so today will be about the value of RM1 in the modern world and guess what mates, I will be sharing it in Malay..

Konnichiwa minasan XD

hope you guys enjoy :P..

RM1.

1 roti canai kosong + air suam = Student Life *Cries at corner

Perkara sebaliknya mungkin berlaku...

Kesimpulannya: Bersyukur lah  XDDD haha

Till we meet again lads..

Kenangan Ramadhan

hello guys XD

rase2 nak dekat 2 minggu lebih x update blog..bkn apa takut orang x nampak sebab jerebu kan hehehe... tetibe hati tergerak nak post 1 entry sebab nanti bertimbun lagi kerja-kerja lain.

I feel you brah

Persoalan yang timbul sekarang ni apa yang aku nak cita pasal Ramadhan ni???

ok Ramadhan yang  ak nak share ngan korang semua ialah Ramadhan yang berlaku pada 2 tahun lepas...time tu la ak baru belajar cara nak buat murtabak maggi haha..tu je

banyak gak la experience yg aku dapat time tengah masak tu..but mostly aku tengok2 je kawan2 aku yang masakkan :P

Jadi skang ni aku nak habaq mai kat hampa2 semua bende2 yang perlu ada tuk buat murtabak maggi; So let's begin.....

Bahan-bahan / Materials
1. Maggi (duh...obviously tapi pakai yg jenis berkuah eg: kari, ayam dsb)
2. Minyak masak
3. Telur
4. Sos dan mayonis

Apparatus
1. Spatula
2. Portable stove
3. Cerek
4.Kuali mini

(dah macam lab report Science dah bende kau tulis ni..haish redho jela)

Cara-cara:
1. Didihkan air untuk mencelur mi segera

So ni lah hasilnya murtabak maggi yang ak buat (kot)

Feel the irresistible temptation from this food *drooling

Kesimpulannya, rajin2 la try masak sbb skang ni kos hidup dah meningkat..GST pon dah dikenakan (bukan nak kondem tapi ade certain peniaga amik kesempatan).. so dengan masak sendiri kita boleh la sahut cabaran 3.85 bagi menangani isu makanan luar mahal (x nak sebut nama dia bagi clue rase dah cukup kot)....hehehe

Jadi sampailah kita semua ke penghujung entry kali ni...idea pon kadang2 datang sekejap sangat, bini dia call suh balik awal..so merepot la aku nak pikir idea yg lagi power... so ak harap korang semua terhibur dengan lawak hambar sebentar tadi..

Reaksi aku dengan lawak hambar kau tadi...

K uolls

Babai XD

Much like very sweg so coool wow
